She is a 'biggie iggie' weighing in at 20 pounds. She has lost a little weight since she's been here, but still needs to lose a couple more. Izzy Bell or just Izzy is learning her name and usually comes when called. She is extremely well mannered and very attached to people. She will cry if you leave the room, but is doing that less and less. At night, she will sleep in the crate, but much prefers sleeping with a human. She'll hop on the couch and curl up beside you to watch TV or read. Izzy is well on her way to being house broken. She now knows that she is supposed to 'do her business' whenever we take her outside. Izzy gets along well with other dogs. She doesn't seem so attached to them that she must have another dog in the house with her, but IG's usually do better in pairs. I think she would be very happy being an only child, if someone were home with her a lot.

BEAU - ITALIAN GREYHOUND

Beau was born 11/04/2008. Beau is a "Biggy Iggy"...weighing in at 18 pounds at 7 months of age! He is the biggest, sweetest lovebug there is. Since he is a biggy, he can reach up on the counter tops...so keep things pushed back so he can't get them. We are working on "off" with him. Beau gets along well with other dogs and cats and loves to PLAY!!!! (but that's a puppy). He is a big cuddler and is crate trained as well. He usually sleeps all night and is getting to be a late riser. He is working on house training and is doing pretty well, but still needs some work. Bella, another foster dog is Beau's sister. The couch is to be shared
2. The bed is to be shared
3. The coffee table is merely a convenient stepping-stone to the couch 4. The dining room table has the best view of the living room (we are working on this...) 4. When you are lying down, he must be as close to you as physically possible

If this is your kind of boy, George would love to meet you!

He has never had an accident in the house, and loves the doggie door. The big dogs he shares his foster home with do not scare him at all, and he lives for human attention. He also has quite a personality and will moan at you if you are not attending to his needs quickly enough at meal times. George even seems to realize how pathetic he sounds; he used to be quite vocal, but now just moans enough to make himself heard.

He is a very sweet boy with a lot of love to give. Come meet him!

BAILEY - WHIPPET MIX

Bailey is a precious little black and white whippet mix.
She's young; probably around 2 or 3 years old and just wants someone to snuggle and cuddle with her.
At first she is very timid with other dogs, but quickly warms up. She would do best with small dogs since the big, scarey, monster-like greyhounds in her foster home tend to gang up on her, wanting her to play with them. She also shares a foster home with 2 whippets, and she loves them both. They are more her speed.

Bailey is a typical whippet: wherever you are, that's where she wants to be.
She loves to curl up on the bed with me at night and sleeps happily all thru the night.
Occassionally she will have an accident in the house, but it seems that this is because the "BIG" dogs won't leave her alone outside to do her business. She is very good at using the doggie door, but when the greyhounds see her go thru the door, they always follow. She does not appreciate their attention!

She makes the cutest coo-ing sounds when happy, and she is a very, very happy little girl!
If you want an affectionate little cuddle-buddy who is clean, quiet and loving, Bailey is your girl.
Come meet her!

LUIGI - ITALIAN GREYHOUND (CORPUS CHRISTI)

He is very calm, loving and sweet. Timid and a bit anxious in new situations - I get the feeling that he hasn't had a steady situation or homelife. It doesn't take him long to settle in - it just seems to me that he thinks that has no confidence and thinks he will be taken somewhere else and just left. He may have been physically abused at some point, too. But he is a wonderful little dog! Would be great for an older couple or single older person or as a new iggie owner - as he is no trouble at all. He is very soft when he jumps in your lap or loves on you.
You would not think he is as old as he is - is always up and moving around and following me. No signs of arthritic movements and plays well with the other dogs and cats but can be a little quieter - but he plays hard and runs all over the backyard. Loves his food and treats. He uses the doggie door and pads but in all fairness to all my boys, anytime I get a new one in - like Drifter - the marking will start. I think he could be easily trained for good if he didn't have the others here. Very much wants to please his person

DRIFTER - ITALIAN GREYHOUND (CORPUS CHRISTI)

DRIFTER is adorable!! Has a very sweet personality and he barks, but usually talks like my male greyhound does - woooooo - it is so cute. He's just a typically little iggie pup that has been left outside and ignored so he doesn't know too much. Needs training on a leash and with potty habits - but doesn't bat an eye when I put a belly band on. He's easier to catch making a mistake than the others - they are sneaky about it - so he is learning.

Gets along well with the other dogs and with cats and loves toys and to play. Very inquisitive and into everything. Loves to eat and I am trying to put a little weight on him. Loves sleeping in bed under the covers - he is so happy to be in the house and getting attention. Very very sweet and loving. Loves to be petted and will rub his head on you.

RED - WHIPPET

Red is a wonderful Whippet with an incredible personality. He is a great snuggler. We wake up to him spooning us in the morning. Red is a lover, but does not know his own strength and tends to play a little to hard. We think this can be worked on with more exercise and more one on one attention. He is small for a Whippet, but is solid muscle so as you can imagine he is speedy fast. He is very smart, and very curios. He uses the doggy door, but still has his accidents in the house. We have been kennel training him when we are away, because he does like a tennis shoe every now and then. He does well outside, but he is somewhat of an escape artist. He has dug under wooden fences, and climbed chain link fences. He has not ventured away from our home, but it can be done, so he needs a secure yard. It seems having a playmate keeps him from digging, but we suggest a larger dog as a playmate.
He tends to pick on the little ones. He does bark when he plays, and he plays often!! This guy has been such a great addition to our home, and we love him so much. I know this guy will make his forever home complete!!

WHIPPETS

We do get in Whippets from time to time.
